I'm a Gynecologist. Women Who Say Lubricants Stop Working Are Right, and It Was Never About Hormones
She always apologizes before she says it. That sex has become something she plans around, or avoids. That she is dry even when she wants to be there. That she has a drawer full of creams and gels that last about an hour and then leave her itchy.
And almost every one of them has already decided what it means: my body is broken, and only hormones can fix it. Both halves of that sentence are wrong, and I can show you exactly where the mistake is.

The Questions My Patients Ask Before Trying FLORA+
I get it. Most of my patients had a tab open for days before ordering. Here is what they actually ask me...
1) Is this just an expensive lubricant?
No, and the difference is the route. A lubricant coats the surface for an hour. Oral hyaluronic acid absorbs into your bloodstream and reaches the cells that hold moisture. One covers the problem, the other supplies it.
2) Don't I need hormones for this?
Hormones influence your moisture supply, but they are not the supply itself, and plenty of women with normal levels sit in my office describing exactly this. Restoring the tissue's ability to hold water is a separate lever, and it is the one nobody had pulled.
3) How long before sex stops burning?
Comfort usually eases first, in the early weeks. Natural moisture builds over the following weeks as the tissue rebuilds. Anyone promising you an overnight fix is selling you another tube.
4) I'm dry even when I'm turned on. Is something wrong with me?
It means the tissue does not have the water to release, no matter what your body is signalling. That is a supply problem, not a desire problem, and it is the single most common thing women blame themselves for in that chair.
5) Can I still use my lubricant?
Of course, use whatever makes you comfortable now. The point is that you should not still need it in three months.
